Design Sprints

Design Sprints are a structured innovation format in which teams move within a few days from problem analysis through idea development to a tested prototype. They enable companies to develop new products and solutions quickly, cost-efficiently and in a user-centered way, before extensive resources flow into the final implementation.

Why traditional development processes cannot meet the demands of modern markets

Traditional development processes are often lengthy and inefficient, leading to delays in market launch. However, user needs are changing faster than before due to the various influences they are exposed to every day. If the traditional process is followed, momentum can be lost. In addition, considerable resources are wasted on detailed implementation. Accordingly, a new launch often leads to uncertainty and increased risk in product development.

From the idea to the MVP: rapid innovation with structured design sprints

Our design sprints provide a structured method for solving complex problems in the shortest possible time. Within just a few days, teams go through intensive work phases that range from problem analysis and idea development to prototyping and user feedback.

Through close collaboration and a clearly structured process, design sprints can significantly accelerate product development and ensure that the solutions developed actually meet user needs and are implemented promptly as MVPs (Minimal Viable Products).

Our design sprints help you to develop innovative products faster and more securely and to successfully place them on the market.

FAQs

A Design Sprint is a structured 5-day format based on the Google Ventures process by Jake Knapp. A Design Sprint usually takes place on site, but it can also be conducted remotely within 2 weeks. During this time, teams go through five phases: Understand (define the problem space), Sketch (develop solution ideas), Decide (select the best idea), Prototype (build a clickable prototype) and Test (validate with real users). The goal is not a finished product but a validated answer to a concrete design question, before costly development begins.

Design Sprints are suitable for teams with a clearly defined problem, sufficient decision-making authority and the willingness to work together intensively for five days. They are less suitable when the problem is still unclear (in which case a Concept Workshop or exploratory user research is preferable), when no real users are available for the test day, or when the team is not prepared to accept results even against internal assumptions. The sprint is only as good as the willingness to test honestly.

You receive a tested prototype, documented user feedback, clear insights into which solution approaches work, as well as concrete recommendations for the next steps in product development.

An MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is the smallest possible version of a product that delivers real user value and can be tested in the market. In a Design Sprint, no MVP is created but rather a prototype – a simulation of the product that only holds up to user tests, not real use. The sprint prototype answers the question: does our concept solve the problem? Only when this question is answered with yes is it worth investing in building a real MVP. The sprint is the preliminary stage, not the replacement.

The cost of a Design Sprint depends on the scope, duration and individual requirements. We would be happy to prepare a no-obligation quote tailored precisely to your requirements.
